Steinar Svalesen.
Steinar Svalesen is Chief Financial Officer of Catoxy Energy and brings more than 30 years of international experience across technology, telecommunications, digital media, venture investing, corporate finance and strategic advisory. At Catoxy he oversees the company’s financial strategy, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, corporate governance, capital formation, investor relations and capital markets activities.
Career
Steinar has built, financed, led and advised numerous growth companies across Scandinavia, Europe and the United States. Throughout his career he has developed extensive expertise in entrepreneurship, capital formation, mergers and acquisitions, business transformation, strategic partnerships and investor engagement.
In parallel with his role at Catoxy Energy, Steinar serves as Partner at Cyrus Corporate Finance, where he advises boards, shareholders, founders and management teams on capital raising, strategic transactions, mergers and acquisitions, valuation and growth strategy. He previously served as Director Corporate Finance at Beringer Finance, focusing on transactions within the Nordic technology, media and telecommunications sectors.
Earlier roles
Earlier in his career he held executive leadership positions with international technology and telecommunications companies including Ericsson, Nortel Networks, Telenor Interactive USA, Teleplan Consulting and The Mobile Media Company. He has founded and scaled multiple businesses, with extensive experience in international business development, software and digital services, management consulting and venture investing.
Boards & affiliations
Steinar is also an active investor through Ridgehaven Ventures and has served as board member, adviser and mentor to numerous Scandinavian technology companies. He has acted as industry adviser to investment funds and accelerators, and is a frequent speaker on entrepreneurship, technology innovation and venture development.
Education
He holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering, graduating cum laude. He has also completed executive management studies at BI Norwegian School of Management and the Ericsson Executive Management Program.
