Per-Arne Solberg.
Per-Arne Solberg is a co-founder of Catoxy Energy, where he serves as Chief Strategy & Business Development Officer. In this role he leads corporate strategy, partnerships and capital formation as the company builds a European platform for the development and operation of geothermal energy. He is responsible for shaping the commercial architecture of the business — from strategic positioning and partner selection to the fundraising and structuring work required to move projects from concept toward execution.
Career
He brings more than three decades of experience across capital markets, corporate finance, structured finance and business development. His career began in Norwegian capital markets, where he advised high-net-worth clients and evaluated listed companies and alternative asset classes at firms including Pareto Forvaltning and the Norse group — building a durable foundation in valuation, asset allocation and investor relationships. Earlier, he established and led a regional office for ACTA Asset Management, his first experience of building a commercial operation and team from the ground up.
Over time his focus shifted toward structured and asset-based finance for the real economy. As a senior adviser at CMA Asset Management he delivered strategic financing solutions — principally leasing — to medium and large companies, concentrating on the energy, offshore and oil-service sectors and working with issuers listed on the Oslo exchange on transactions ranging from a few million to well over one hundred million US dollars. He extended this expertise through partner and leadership roles at Lighthouse Finance and Pioner Kapital, working on leasing and debt-capital structures alongside corporate-finance mandates — equity issues and mergers and acquisitions — across sectors from renewable energy and oil and gas to seafood and biotechnology.
Alongside his finance career, Per-Arne has repeatedly built and led companies of his own. He established and ran two independent retail businesses early on, co-founded and led the Moments restaurant concept, and for several years has operated his own advisory firm, CRP-Consulting, supporting founders and management teams with capital raising, strategy, financial matters and board work. He has also driven growth in technology and early-stage ventures — leading sales and business development at Techpros and, more recently, holding senior business-development and general-management roles at Gateway Group of Companies and serving as chief executive of Northsea Capital, where he was responsible for establishing a new business area and its commercial partnerships.
At Catoxy Energy
This combination — capital-markets depth, structured-finance discipline, hands-on company building and a long-standing focus on the energy value chain — is what Per-Arne brings to Catoxy Energy. He works at the intersection of strategy, technology and capital, connecting the technical promise of geothermal energy with the investors, partners and commercial structures needed to scale it, with the ambition of establishing Catoxy as a leading European developer and operator in the sector. He is known as a structured, engaging and execution-focused leader with a consistent ability to build momentum in complex, cross-disciplinary and fast-moving environments.
Education
A native Norwegian speaker, he works fluently in English and German. Based in the Moss and Oslo region of Norway, he holds professional certification from the Norwegian Securities Dealers Association and studied marketing at BI Norwegian Business School.
