Peder Ursin-Smith is Chief Commercial Officer of Catoxy Energy and brings fifteen years of international experience in private-equity-backed companies across telecommunications, project management, greentech, clean energy and e-mobility. At Catoxy he connects business development, finance, mergers and acquisitions, data intelligence and growth strategy.

Peder combines commercial, financial and transaction experience to support Catoxy’s development. He has experience in building organisations for scale and optimising value creation in rapidly growing companies.

Career

Peder has built, financed, scaled and restructured growth companies. Throughout his career he has developed deep expertise in capital formation, mergers and acquisitions, post-merger integration, business transformation, commercial and pricing strategy and investor engagement. Most recently he served as CFO at Aneo Mobility, a PE-backed company where he contributed to obtaining the largest market share in the Nordics.

Earlier roles

Earlier in his career he held senior finance and leadership positions with technology, telecommunications and infrastructure companies including UBConnect, Broadnet, GET and BNP Paribas. Across these roles he built extensive experience in corporate turnarounds, buy-and-build acquisitions, due diligence and integration, business intelligence and corporate banking.

Boards & affiliations

He served on the board of Aneo, one of the largest renewable companies in the Nordics, in addition to acting as board member and board secretary at several telecommunications and energy infrastructure businesses.

Education

Peder holds an Executive MBA from the Norwegian School of Economics and a Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University. In addition, he holds executive certificates in artificial intelligence from MIT Sloan, data analysis from the London School of Economics and sustainability strategy from BI Norwegian Business School.
